Thanks so much for being here,
One world one people is a blog designed to express facts, views and opinions from the grounds about our differences as human beings and the world we all live on. As Audre Lord says “It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences.”
Here I intend to express some of those differences in a factual and comprehensive way, in order that we all not just acknowledge them but also embrace and celebrate it.
Traveling showed me how privilege I am to be one of those 30% of the people whose human rights fully assist… Mostly from my journeys across the developing world I have seen, listened and experienced human rights violations that I had never imagined years ago.
On my early 20s before I break out my comfort zone and set on a journey that would change my life and my perception of the world, I was that judgmental person who would sit in front of the TV, perceiving and judging the world and the people based on how media portraits it. After all TV was the best source of knowledge I had access to. I had never had the opportunity to challenge my views until the day it was there … right in front of my face and made me even question my own essence.
I am sure you have also experienced it … seen your seemingly self-evident and unquestioned perception of the world and people changing from one day to another. At the end of the day we are humans and we are not equipped with enough sensors to eliminate all the ambiguity and perceive the world without assumptions.
With this blog I intend to share with you the situations I encounter during my journey of life that somehow challenge my perception of the world. I will also take you through my journey of living in Saudi Arabia as an expat.
I hope you enjoy your time reading my posts! Let me know your thoughts, opinions or ground experience, I would also love to learn from you!!
